Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 August 2026At Quick Buk, your privacy and data protection are a priority. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website, our mobile app and our monthly pick & drop van service, how we use that information, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
This document was drafted to reflect how the Quick Buk service actually works, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before you publish it, have a qualified legal advisor check it against Pakistani data-protection and consumer law, and fill in the items marked [to be confirmed] — your registered company name, registered address, and the retention periods you actually apply.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to everyone who interacts with Quick Buk, including:
- Riders who book a seat on a monthly pick & drop route.
- Organizations that arrange employee shuttle, campus or event transport for their people.
- Drivers and fleet owners who apply to operate on our routes.
- Visitors who browse this website without creating an account.
Quick Buk is operated by [to be confirmed — registered company name], with a registered address at [to be confirmed]. We are the data controller responsible for the information described here.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address and phone number.
- Travel preferences — your pickup point, destination, route and preferred schedule.
- Payment details — the information needed to take payment for your monthly plan.
- Support messages — anything you send us through the app, the contact form, or by email.
- Driver applications — if you apply to drive, the licensing, vehicle and identity documents we request.
Information we collect automatically
- Ride records — the trips you are booked on, boarding activity and schedule changes.
- Location data — see Location and tracking data below.
- Device and log data — device type, operating system, app version, IP address and basic diagnostic logs.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account and your monthly plan.
- Reserve your seat, allocate you to a route, and confirm your schedule.
- Show you the live position of your van as it approaches your pickup point.
- Take payment, issue receipts and handle refunds.
- Provide customer support and resolve issues about a specific ride.
- Keep riders and drivers safe, and investigate incidents or complaints.
- Improve our routes, schedules, app and overall service.
- Send you service messages about your bookings, and — where you have agreed — occasional updates about Quick Buk.
- Meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Location and tracking data
Live ride tracking is a core part of the service, so location data matters here more than in most apps:
- We collect vehicle location during scheduled rides so riders can see the van approaching.
- We collect your device location only where you have granted permission, and use it to show nearby pickup points and to improve pickup accuracy.
- You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings. Some features — such as nearest-stop suggestions — will stop working if you do.
When we share information
We share information only where it is necessary, and only with:
- Drivers on your route — the minimum needed to pick you up, such as your name and pickup point.
- Your organization — if your employer or institution arranges and pays for your travel, they may receive attendance or usage information relating to the transport they fund.
- Payment processors — to take and reconcile payment securely.
- Service providers — hosting, mapping, analytics and customer-support tools acting on our instructions.
- Authorities — where we are required to by law, or to protect the safety of riders, drivers or the public.
Where our providers process data outside Pakistan, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.
Payment information
Payments can be made in cash, by online transfer, or by credit card. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; Quick Buk does not store full card numbers on its own systems. We retain a record of transactions for accounting, tax and dispute-resolution purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above, and then delete or anonymise it. In practice that means:
- Account information — for as long as your account is active, plus [to be confirmed] after closure.
- Ride and location records — [to be confirmed], after which they are anonymised for route planning.
- Financial records — for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law.
How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, access controls limiting who on our team can view rider data, and secure, modern infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and review our controls as the service grows.
Your rights and choices
You may ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
- Stop sending you marketing messages — you can opt out at any time without affecting your service messages.
- Withdraw a permission you previously gave, such as location access.
To make any of these requests, contact us using the details in How to contact us. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand, in aggregate, how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some preferences may not be remembered.
Children and students
Quick Buk carries school, college and university students. Where a rider is under the age of majority, we expect a parent, guardian or the educational institution to make the booking and to consent to this policy on their behalf. We do not knowingly create accounts directly for children without that consent.
Third-party links
Our website and app may link to third-party sites and app stores. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies before providing information to them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service develops or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page, and — for significant changes — tell you through the app or by email.
